So yesterday I received my first ever Daily Deviation - I am so overjoyed and flattered at the continued support I have received from you all towards my art and I was extremely surprised to find out my work was chosen for a DD.

Even so, I have never received such insulting, negative, and inappropriate comments as the ones I received after having my image as a Daily Deviation. I have never once gone out of my way to post such belittling criticism on ANYONES work - whether I like it or not. I am not against criticism in the slightest, but there is quite a large difference between constructive criticism and complete and utter castigation.

All I ask is that all of you exercise respect when viewing and commenting on other people's works. You have no idea what people go through to create what they do and the amount of effort something really takes unless you personally witness it. I thought out of anywhere to place my artwork, you, members of DeviantArt, wouldn't treat me so poorly.

I'm not asking everyone to love me, to like my work, or to even give it the time of day. All I'm asking is that people stop concomitantly treating each other like insignificant trash. We are all valuable as artists.
